NYS Supreme Court Officers Association endorse Onofry in Surrogate’s Court race

Port Jervis City Judge Robert A. Onofry

Goshen - The New York State Supreme Court Officers Association have endorsed the candidacy of Port Jervis City Judge Robert A. Onofry for Surrogate Court judge in Orange County.

“With your 32 years as a practicing attorney and with your significant practice in Surrogate Court we consider you our candidate of choice,” John McKillop, president of the association, said in making the announcement.

Onofry also has the unanimous endorsement of the Orange County Republican Committee as well as that of the Conservative Party.

The election, held in November, is for a ten-year term. His Democratic opponent is Stephen Hunter of Blooming Grove, who was appointed to the Surrogate Court in Goshen earlier this year by Gov. David Paterson and subsequently confirmed by the state Senate.
