Monroe Conservation Commission to host speaker on aquatic weed control

Monroe - Ramapo College Professor of Geography Howard Horowitz will be the featured speaker at the next Town of Monroe Conservation Commission meeting on Wednesday, May 20.

The program begins at 8 p.m. and will be held at the John D’Angelis Town Hall located on Lake Street.

Horowitz is an advocate of aquatic weed management without the use of herbicides, especially fluridone (“Sonar”), to control the weed Eurasian watermillfoil.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend. The Town Hall is handicapped accessible.
