WARWICK - Invisible Fence of Orange County, formerly AAA Hidden Dog Fence, held the grand opening of its new retail store and sales office at 42C High St. in the Village of Warwick on May 22.
The new showroom is just behind Hayes BarberShop and across the street from the WVT Communications garage just off Forester Ave..
Although the company has been operating in and around Warwick for the past 14 years, this is its first retail location.
“The retail location is largely a response to demand from our existing customers,” said owner Rick Fernandez, who is also a New York City Firefighter. “We pride ourselves on offering exceptional customer service and this location is one more step in our overall efforts to provide our customers what they want. After serving over 1,000 customers, I felt it made a lot of sense to listen to what they were asking for. Now they can stop by and buy a battery, reprogram a collar, or get one on one training help at their convenience.”
Fernandez explained that when the “invisible fence” is installed around the perimeter of the pet owner’s property and a properly trained dog is wearing a receiver in its collar, it is very unlikely that the animal will stray from home.
“When the dog approaches the limits of the property,” he explained, “it will receive an audio warning signal. Proceed a little further and there will be faster signals and then an electronic jolt, not harmful, but enough to convince the dog to remain within the perimeter of the property. It’s the most effective, most humane way of keeping dogs safe.”
General Manager Heidi Lindblad is also happy with the company’s new space.

“While we continue to do most of the day to day operations off site,” she said, “it’s nice to be able to have a space dedicated to meeting with our customers, prospects, and, of course, their dogs.”
Lindblad said that the company’s phone lines are answered from 7 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. by a fully staffed call center of trained Invisible Fence Brand experts. “But for those who want to stop by,” she said, “we love it when they bring their dogs.”
The new retail store is stocked with all things related to Invisible Fence Brand solutions. Customers can see the latest system accessories including the IF Brand Shield, a wireless indoor transmitter, as well as a full assortment of nylon collars, batteries and receiver fittings.
“We will be continually adding additional products to cater to our four legged friends,” said Lindblad.
Invisible Fence Customers can also have receivers reprogrammed and have basic diagnostic functions done at the store at no charge to existing customers.
