Warwick - The Warwick Valley Middle School Mileage Club would like to thank Owner-Brokers of Regal Homes and Properties Patty Brady and Kim Corkum for donating the Mileage Club T-shirts.
Club Advisor Kim Brady and the Mileage Club members appreciate the generosity of this local business establishment. Twenty-nine students were awarded with a purple and gold Middle School Mileage Club T-shirt for participating in the club. Thanks to Regal Homes & Properties, the Mileage Club looks like a united team.
The Mileage Club is comprised of sixth, seventh and eighth grade students who made the commitment to improving their health while having fun. These students had the opportunity to stay after school three days a week and walk, jog, or run with their friends.
The Mileage Club members enjoyed the outdoor spring weather during the months of April, May and June. Students covered the terrain of the Middle and High School campuses, including the nature trail and the Tim St. Lawrence Track.
Mileage Club members participated in leisure running and walking, relays, games and races. Everyone kept track of their daily miles and exercise activities in their own running logs. Each day they could see how their times and distances improved. The students have been working hard to improve their times in running a mile. The students set daily goals for themselves and worked hard at trying to achieve them!
Several of the students will be competing Saturday, June 13, in the Junior Classic Mile at Middletown High School, part of the famous Orange Classic weekend.
