Warwick - Driver education will be offered by an independent driving school at Warwick Valley High School this fall.
The cost to each student will be $330. Students will be chosen by a lottery system with seniors and juniors having priority. Sophomores will be eligible if spaces are available after all seniors and juniors have been assigned their scheduled times.
Beginning Aug. 1, registration forms can be obtained online at www.warwickvalleyschools.com; click on High School, then click on Driver Education. Applications also will be available from John B. Russo in the District office.
The deadline for applications to be returned to Mr. Russo’s office is Aug. 28.
Students participating in the program will be required to attend two sessions a week, totaling 3 hours: 1.5 hours in the classroom and 1.5 hours in the car.
Any student who wishes to participate in the program must have their Driver’s License or Learner’s Permit as issued by the Motor Vehicle Bureau and must be 16 years of age on or before Sept. 15, 2009.
