    Little Mister Stillwater, Hunter Mills Gallo and Little Miss Stillwater, Megan Rose Halpin

    STILLWATER — Miss Stillwater and Little Mr. and Miss Stillwater were recently crowned during Stillwater Day festivities.

    Anne Abruzzo

    Anne Alyse Abruzzo is 18 years old. She attended Stillwater Elementary School and is currently a senior at Kittatinny Regional High School. She is a sixth generation Stillwater Township resident. She has belonged to Girl Scouts, has been a counselor at the Stillwater recreational summer camp, and recently served on the executive committee of 4H teen council.

    She is an active member of Our Lady of Mount Caramel Church in Swartswood, belongs to the youth group, is a catechist for children’s liturgy, and a member of the National Honor Society. She belonged to numerous clubs in high school and was a frequent participant of the Stillwater-Fredon Recreational softball and basketball teams, as well as participating in field hockey and track, while at Kittatinny.

    Her future ambitions include college, medical school, and acquiring her private pilot’s license.

    Megan Rose Halpin

    Five-year-old Megan is the daughter of Rory and Janet Halpin.

    At three years old she became a student of the Stillwater Township Special Education Pre-K class. She was the first student in the district to complete all her goals within two years. Megan is an example of determination and perseverance to others.

    Hunter Mills Gallo

    Hunter, 7, is the son of Shellene and Brian Gallo. He is an honor roll student in the second grade. This young man with a positive attitude volunteers at the Pequest Hatchery. He recently created hands-on teaching displays for the “Migrating Bird Festival,” where he used to teach people about bird beaks. Hunter also installed Bluebird at Pequest and was part of the Bluebird Trail Dedication.

    Hunter also keeps the area’s lakes and ponds clean by picking up fishing lines and debris other people have left behind.

    He plays the guitar, harmonica, recorder, writes his own songs and has performed at Stillwater Day for several years.



    Hunter loves to read, play basketball, and go fishing. He is also an orange belt in karate and has competed and won several medals and awards.
