YMCA will host Splash for CF fundraiser

Hardyston — BioGuard Dealer Lakeland Pools & Spas, in Vernon, will partner with the Sussex County YMCA, on July 19, from 5 to 6 p.m., for a nation-wide lap swimming fundraiser for cystic fibrosis, Splash for CF.

Participants will be able to swim laps even if they do not belong to the YMCA. They should pick up a packet at the YMCA or at Lakeland Pools, then get family and friends to sponsor them. Someone from Lakeland Pools will collect packets and take pictures.

Following the lap swim, the YMCA will have games from 6 to 7 p.m.

Sixty percent of the money raised will stay local, benefiting Mount Sinai Children’s Hospital for CF care. The remainder of the money will be donated to CF causes, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, to aid in research to lengthen life expectancy and ultimately find a cure for this #1 genetic killer of children.

Swim clubs and teams, neighborhood groups or individual pool enthusiasts can get involved by visiting www.splashforcf.org to download forms and information on collecting pledges for swimming, hosting a fundraising pool party or making a donation online.
