    Warwick Valley team wins state FFA nursery/landscape event

    The Warwick Valley FFA Nursery Landscape team placed first at the 2009 New York State FFA Nursery/Landscape Career Development Event (CDE). The team members competed for this award in Syracuse during the 81st New York State Fair. The competition tested participants’ abilities to apply classroom learning and career skills to real-life situations. Members of the winning team from Warwick Valley High School include: Katie Brosnan, Kristen Kettenring, Jennifer Sidoti, Maggie Smith and advisor Nancy Colgan. The competition included more than 500 students in 17 different events. The winning teams were scheduled to compete in the national competition in Indianapolis, Ind.
