    New ob/gyn joins hospital

NEWTON — Andria Pennant, M.D., has joined the staff of physicians at Newton Memorial Hospital.

Pennant was initially hired on an interim basis by Women’s Health Care.

“It was clear to us that she would be a valuable member of our practice and would provide wonderful care to our patients,” said Donald Rubino. “She is a skilled, caring professional who complements our staff greatly and will only enhance the care the hospital provides.”

Pennant received her undergraduate degree from the Seton Hall University. She graduated from Meharry Medical College and did her residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey which she completed in 2006.

Pennant has delivered many babies and is knowledgeable in all areas of gynecology. She has special interests in laparoscopic procedures and management of abnormal cervical cytology and colposcopy.

“This area has so much to offer me in terms of quality of life,” Pennant said. “I also am able to use my skills to do what I do best, meet the healthcare needs of the women who rely on us. I am very excited to see what the future holds.”

" I just wanted to let everyone Know how wonderful, Knowledgeable & caring Dr Pennant is. She was my Dr for a couple of years & have missed her, going to the office where she used to work was never the same. I am glad I found out where she is practicing (Thanks Google!) & look forward to becoming a patient of hers once again.
Best of Luck in your new home Dr Pennant & I will see you soon!
    ~ May. "
